Update December 29, 2015

I had a doctors appointment today and I am so thankful to let you all know that my tumors are even smaller than last time! My doctor who is usually straight faced and serious gave me a little smile and his eyes twinkled and he said this is cause to celebrate. I think he was surpised at how much smaller everything was. Actually smaller is not the right word. The shape of my tumors is still about the same but much flatter and have the feeling of breaking down a bit, if that makes any sense.

He also told me that he had heard back from some genetic group (not sure of the actual name) that recommended a certain course of treatment with my type of cancer, and it was the same exact treatment he had already started me on. This was a big encouragement to him and I could tell he was relieved by this confirmation.

This of course is a huge answer to all of our prayers and we are feeling humbled and blessed today.
I received a sweet typed note from one of my nieces today after I got back from my appointment, and I would like to share with you what she wrote. It really sums up how I'm feeling right now.

Dear Aunt Aimee,

You have been so kind to me even when having to suffer through cancer. But do you know what makes me happy when I am sick or not feeling well? Its when someone reminds you that Christ is ALWAYS with you. I just feel like God is really working inside of your body, and just healing it step by step.

How gracious he will be when you cry for help. As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Isaiah 30:19

..... I will pray that God will touch your body and heal it fully. I'm very glad to hear the good news that your tumor has shrunk and you're doing much better. The Lord has helped you greatly.

                                                                                                                  Love,
                                                                                                                              E

Indeed the Lord has been so gracious to me and I am so very amazed at how he has orchestrated all of this for me. As we continue moving forward in light of this good news, here are a few ways you can be praying for me and my family.

~Please keep praying for full and complete healing.

~I have a CT scan early February to check on my lymph node by my right lung. Please pray for a clear scan.

~I came home today from the doctors to a lethergic little guy who then proceeded to through up on me and the floor. Yikes. He seems a little better and is sleeping now. Please pray that no one else gets sick.

~ I am still tired at times but doing fairly well, except for some sleep issues due to some minor back pains and hot flashes. Good sleep is so important to how I function during the day so I would love prayers for that.

~ The holidays are coming to an end which is usually hard on my kids especially with family being in town. Please pray for patience, wisdom, and smooth transition back to normal life and school.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support!!

  3. Great news! I think of you everyday, especially what you said about God giving you "Himself" as the answer to your prayer.
